Frequently Asked Questions
How do I know that I will like your mixing style?
The way my mixing service works is: From the very beginning, the 1st mix that you receive will be a high resolution mp3 with copy protection beeps placed throughout. That way you can decide if you are happy with the direction your songs are headed in or not. If you aren't totally blown away with how much better your tracks sound, then you aren't expected to pay. You receive full resolution .wav file with the beeps removed once your mixes are paid for.
What If I get my mix back and It's just not the sound I am after?
You only pay for your mix when you are 100% happy with it.
Why are there strange beeps in my song?
Once you pay for your mixes, the beeps are removed.
How long does it take to upload a song?
The average transfer time with a good cable or DSL connection is about 3 hours for 1 gigabyte of files. If you are doing a full LP or if you are on dialup it would probably be better to just burn a few dvds and send your tracks in the mail.
Do I have to use Drop Box to send you the files?
Drop Box is a very convenient way to share the session files online. When you use drop box, all you have to do is drag your Protools session or raw consolidated tracks to a 'shared' drop box folder on your computer's hard drive. If you have a good cable or dsl connection the files will show up on the studio drives in about 2-3 hours (for one song). If you would rather use FTP, I can give you access to my secure ftp server. You are also very welcome to mail your tracks on burned DVD-Rs.
What kind of gear are you using?
The published rates on this site are reflective of mixing on a Pro Tools TDM system using a passive summing mixer. I have a few warm analog outboard compressors that are used to fatten things up as well. Analog mixing on an SSL console is also available.
Just ask.
Do I need a paypal account to do online mixing?
No. Although I process payments securely through paypal, you will not need a paypal account to use our services.
